Barrows equipment encompasses four sets for melee: Verac’s, Torag’s Dharok’s, and Guthan’s, while Magic and Ranged have Ahrim’s and Karil’s sets, respectively. Karil's crossbow is a ranged weapon that is part of Karil the Tainted's set of barrows equipment. It requires 70 Ranged to wield. It fires bolt racks, which break upon firing. Personally I really like Crystal Bow. The massive range (10 squares vs rcb 7 vs karil 8) is really nice to have and the thing is pretty damn accurate (100 vs rcb 90 and karils 84) with decent damage splats (78 range str vs karils 55 and rcb addy bolts 100/mith 82). Greater mage and range defense. Karils is more useful in many circumstances. I'd say go with Karils. You rarely range a monster who uses melee up close where he can hurt you, if defense matters. Fight Caves: Rune or Karil Cbow. Rune crossbow is better. Arma c'bow if you can afford one. -No degrading. -Much higher damage when hitting and running (180s, etc) -Cheaper, depending on the ammo you use. -1 handed - you can use a shield or prayer book to conserve your supplies, etc.Kbow is 106gp per shot, blowpipe is 77gp per shot and 1/5 chance of breaking a dart. So 77gp + 20% of the price of whatever dart you're using, with mith = 11.8+77 = 89gp per shot.
